A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for phase 2 of the Meadows, a home park in Whitecourt, marking the start of construction.
Realtors and community leaders gathered at the Meadows in late October to celebrate the new phase of housing development.
"This is a big collaboration,"said Janet Kuehn, Kuehn Real Estate Group broker.
"We're hoping we can get this going fairly quick and fulfill some need for houses. We do need it."
Dennis VanLeeuwen, Quattro Homes builder, stated that the new development includes 32 lots, with the completion date to be determined. The development will feature a mix of manufactured homes, modular homes, and stick-built homes.
In September 2024, the town council approved Land Use Bylaw amendments, allowing for different types of housing at Meadows Manufactured Home Park, in addition to manufactured homes.
