According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), manufacturers have agreed to hold off price increases of basic goods until the end of the year.
“There will be no price increase for basic necessities and prime commodities until the end of the year. All manufacturers have agreed to this,”
said Trade Secretary Cristina Roque. The DTI made this announcement after calling on manufacturers to help maintain current prices during the recent Consumer Welfare Month Stakeholders’ Appreciation Night.
The agency is working with manufacturers and retailers to keep suggested retail prices stable, in line with President Marcos' directive to keep essential goods affordable during the holiday season.
