Energy company E.ON Group has signed a five-year deal with Nokia to modernize its mission-critical communications infrastructure.
The initial project in Germany is expected to set the blueprint for units elsewhere in Europe. Nokia estimates that the upgraded network will reduce energy consumption by up to 50% compared to the current IP and optical infrastructure.
The new equipment will improve security and operational resilience, along with offering scalability, operational flexibility, and responsiveness.
