Two AIs, One Codebase: Why I Run Claude Code and Cursor Side-by-Side

My daily workflow involves using competing AI assistants to build better code through creative tension.

Most mornings, I start with two windows and two assistants to tackle a frustrating problem with the Stark Insider server. On the left, I have VS Code with Claude Code, which is my home base and provides great support. Claude is the best coworker I've ever had, helping with commit hygiene, succinct titles, and explanations that capture plenty of detail.

On the other hand, I have Cursor, which is built on VS Code but thinks like an AI product first and an editor second. I often flip between GPT-5 Codex, Auto, or other models to get a different angle.

People whisper that some of the “stealth” options map to bigger-name models (New version: Gemini 3???!).
