Last year, my family decided to break from our traditional Thanksgiving celebration and spend the holiday with friends in Horseshoe Bay, an ideal getaway for golf and lake life enthusiasts.
Among the non-traditional dishes prepared were beef tenderloin, scratch-made pasta, and Bourbon Pecan Pie from Garden & Gun magazine. The filling was rich and buttery, with just enough bourbon to give each bite a warm, caramel depth.

We used fresh pecans from Menard to add a Texas touch to our Bourbon Pecan Pie, although we did use a store-bought crust.
