Schools looking at bigger incentive check for staff

Schools Consider Larger Incentive Checks for Staff

Liberty County School System employees may receive a larger incentive check at the end of next month. The school board, which initially agreed to a $500 incentive check, is now considering increasing the amount to $750.

A school board member, Carol Guyett, stated:

Our teachers did not receive any pay increase. We all know that costs continue to rise. We have parapros, bus drivers, everybody struggling because of the economy.

Guyett emphasized the importance of showing appreciation to staff, saying:

I can think of no better way to make an impact on our system than to tell all of our staff thank you, thank you, thank you.
She believes it's time to let employees know how much they are appreciated for their daily contributions.

The incentive checks, to be issued on November 21, will be a separate payroll check, with the amount determined by the school board.

Author's summary: School staff may get larger incentive checks.
