A new Gallup poll indicates that the obesity rate among U.S. adults has declined over the past three years as the number of people utilizing GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy has risen sharply.
According to the poll, women have a higher obesity rate than men and use weight management medications more often. People between the ages of 40 and 64 have higher obesity rates than other age groups and also utilize GLP-1 drugs more often.
However, despite the decline in obesity rate, the poll also found that the rate of diabetes in the United States has climbed to a record high.
