Microsoft Accidentally Breaks Windows 10 to Windows 11 Upgrade

Microsoft has inadvertently broken the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT), a key method for Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11, ahead of Windows 10's end-of-life.

As observed by Windows Latest, the latest version of the Media Creation Tool fails to work on Windows 10 when attempting to upgrade. This issue arises just as Windows 10 is set to reach its end-of-life on October 14, 2025.

After this date, Windows 10 users will no longer receive free security updates or bug fixes, making their PCs more vulnerable to security risks. Despite the existence of workarounds, a fix timeline has not been mentioned.

Microsoft is officially ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
