Sault City Council to Consider Changes to Transit Services
The Sault city council will review recommendations from an optimization study to improve transit services in the area.
The study suggests several changes, including:
- Discontinuing on-demand service on weekends and replacing it with full transit service
- Implementing a new "loop service"
- Expanding the "Home to Hub" service to Pawating Place
- Revisiting the Sault terminal location in a future budget year
According to the study, the public would like to see improved frequency between key locations and more reliable scheduling between day and evening changes.
Transit users were dissatisfied with the On-Demand service, and Parabus clients found the two-week advanced booking system challenging, suggesting priority should be given to medical appointments.
City council will receive the report and consider the recommended changes to improve the transit system.
