Over 60 major and numerous small employers are collaborating with the government to address the increasing number of people out of work due to ill health.
This joint effort, developed in response to
Sir Charlie Mayfield’s Keep Britain Working Review, aims to prevent ill-health, support employees in staying at work, and help employers build healthier workplaces.
The Review estimates that
one in five working-age adults is out of work due to health reasons, resulting in a yearly cost of £85 billion to businesses from sickness, turnover, and lost productivity.
The government will work with employers to refine how health issues and disabilities are managed in the workplace over the next three years.
