The Baltimore Orioles have added depth to their outfield for the 2026 season by signing Leody Taveras, according to multiple reports.
Taveras spent the first five seasons of his career with the Texas Rangers before splitting the 2025 season between the Rangers and Seattle Mariners organizations. The 2025 season was one of his toughest, as he hit .205 with 3 home runs and 17 RBIs over 58 games before being sent to Triple-A Tacoma in mid-June.
After the demotion, Taveras improved significantly in Triple-A Tacoma, batting .280 with 11 home runs and 68 RBIs. He is currently playing winter ball in the Dominican Winter League for Águilas Cibaeñas, where he is hitting .300 through 9 games.
Upon joining the Orioles, Taveras will compete for playing time in a crowded outfield that includes Colton Cowser, Jeremiah Jackson, Tyler O'Neill, Dylan Beavers, and Heston Kjerstad.
