ESPN Exits ESPN BET Deal With PENN, Goes Into Business With DraftKings

ESPN Ends Deal with PENN Entertainment

Shortly after mutually terminating its exclusive U.S. online sports-betting agreement with PENN Entertainment, ESPN announced a new partnership with DraftKings. The new multiyear deal names DraftKings as ESPN's Official Sportsbook and Odds Provider.

Transition from ESPN BET to DraftKings Partnership

The ESPN BET online sports-betting app will be discontinued on December 1, 2025. Going forward, “ESPN BET” will become a sports-betting content brand, integrated with DraftKings Sportsbook throughout ESPN’s platforms. A full rollout is planned for 2026.

ESPN Leadership on the New Partnership

“Our betting approach has focused on offering an integrated experience within our products,” says ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. “Working with DraftKings, a leader in the space, will allow us to build upon that foundation, continue to super-serve passionate sports fans, and grow our ESPN direct-to-consumer business. We are excited about this new collaboration with DraftKings.”

DraftKings' Role in ESPN's Ecosystem

Summary

This partnership marks a strategic shift for ESPN, transforming its sports betting from an app-based service to a content-integrated model powered by DraftKings.
