LOS ANGELES (AP) — Luka Doncic led the Los Angeles Lakers with an impressive stat line, scoring 35 points, handing out 13 assists, grabbing nine rebounds, and making five steals. The Lakers overcame a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter and secured their fifth straight win with a 118-116 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
The Lakers closed the game on a strong 21-10 run. However, the Spurs nearly forced overtime after Marcus Smart committed an inbound violation following Kelly Olynyk’s putback layup with just 1.2 seconds remaining. Julian Champagnie then drew a foul while attempting to tip in the Spurs' inbound pass but missed his first free throw. The buzzer sounded before anyone could recover the second miss.
