In the Kherson region, Russian forces are focusing their efforts on advancing toward Ukrainian positions mainly from the direction of occupied Oleshky. Colonel Oleksandr Zavtonov, spokesperson for the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy, provided these details to Ukrinform.
"The enemy primarily tries to approach our positions from the occupied Oleshky area, often operating in small groups of two or three. Our reconnaissance detects these groups in time and strikes them before they get close," Zavtonov stated.
Russian troops are also attempting landings in the island zone. When successful, they tend to hide there awaiting rotation, often abandoned by their commanders. Most of these troops are killed, with only a few surrendering to Ukrainian forces.
Over the past day, the 30th Marine Corps units repelled an assault near the Antonivskyi Bridge on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Despite four additional Russian attempts to advance, all were detected early and repelled, forcing the enemy to retreat with losses.
