The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has extended its contract with Saab for conceptual studies on future fighter systems.
The contract, valued at approximately Skr2.68bn ($280m), is an extension of a previous deal made in March 2024 and includes additional work on the Concept Program Future Air Combat System (KFS).
Concept and technology development will continue until Q3 2026, with demonstrator activities and initial flights extending into 2027.
The KFS program is jointly conducted by FMV, Saab, and GKN Aerospace.
