Trump Invites Greece and Cyprus to Gaza Peace Summit
Greece and Cyprus have been formally invited by U.S. President Donald Trump to a Gaza peace summit in Egypt on October 13.
The invitations were extended to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to take part in a high-level summit on Gaza, set to take place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
The conference is being organized amid heightened international concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict in Gaza and will be chaired by US President Donald Trump and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he will attend.
The summit highlights the roles of Greece and Cyprus in Eastern Mediterranean diplomacy, following a historic ceasefire deal.
