Quinte Conservation's Adopt an Acre program has returned with a project that supports local pollinators through hands-on learning for students.
The program will help expand the pollinator meadow, an outdoor classroom for students, at South Potter's Creek Conservation Area.
"The pollinator meadow has grown into an incredible teaching tool, allowing visitors to see up close what native plantings look like while admiring the beautiful butterflies, bees, and other pollinator species,"
said Lindsay Nash, the conservation's outreach and stewardship coordinator.
The meadow gives local schools and community groups the chance to plant native wildflowers, discover the important role these plants play in protecting pollinators, and observe pollinator species in action.
