Six projects have received total funding of €36.9m under the Government’s seventh Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund call.
The €500m fund attracts top-tier research teams to work on cutting-edge technologies, commented Minister James Lawless, TD.
Six additional projects have received collective funding of €36.9m under the Irish Government’s seventh Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF) call.
The new projects span critical sectors including ICT, healthcare and advanced manufacturing.
One of the projects, called ‘Qubic’, is made up of a consortium consisting of quantum start-up Equal1, Dell Technologies, the Irish Manufacturing Research Centre and CeADAR, alongside others.
With a grant of €13.7m, Qubic aims to create quantum algorithms, hardware and software to address challenges in energy, climate modelling, advanced materials and pharmaceuticals.
