A new $28 million sports and recreation centre for Hobart’s northern suburbs advances as the state government releases construction tenders. The Glenorchy Sports Centre will be located at Claremont College.
The centre will feature four indoor courts designed for netball, basketball, futsal, volleyball, and wheelchair sports.
“The Glenorchy Sports Centre will be a fantastic community hub, providing fit-for-purpose facilities that encourage participation, inclusion and connection,” said Sport Minister Nick Duigan.
“This investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting grassroots sport, creating opportunities for local communities and delivering high-quality infrastructure for the future,” he added.
“The Glenorchy Sports Centre is set to be a game-changer for our local sports scene and will serve the community for decades to come.”
This project represents a major investment in community infrastructure, aiming to foster inclusive participation and provide lasting benefits through high-quality sports facilities.
