Record Freshman Class Drives Spike in Greek Recruitment

Sorority and fraternity life at Ohio University has seen a significant increase in popularity, with a record 572 recruits this year.

The university's 31 sororities and fraternities have welcomed one of their largest and most diverse groups of new members, thanks to a record-sized freshman class.

"I knew I wanted to rush at OU because my aunt actually rushed at OU,"

said Emerson Anderson-Feils, a freshman studying biology and a new member of Gamma Phi Beta.

Anti-hazing policies and stronger regulations have contributed to a safer and more inclusive environment, making the process feel more welcoming to students.
