Namibia achieved a shocking victory over South Africa in a one-off Twenty20 international on Saturday, thanks to a late hitting burst by wicketkeeper Zane Green.

Green, who finished with 30 not out, scored 23 of the 26 runs Namibia made in the last two overs. He hit 23 runs, including a six off the first ball of the last over from Andile Simelane, and then hit the winning runs to the midwicket boundary off the last ball.

The match was played to inaugurate the Namibia Cricket Ground, a venue for the 2027 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
